Mckewn Dannelly

Bio

Mckewn Dannelly originally from Conway, SC, is an accomplished educator, athletic administrator, and coach with more than 28 years of experience in softball, baseball, and football at the high school, collegiate, and national levels. In 2000 earning NFCA Softball Southeast Regional Coaching Staff of the Year as part of his father's, Jess Dannelly, staff at Coastal Carolina University. Also, being part of his father's Big South Conference All-Decade Coaching Staff for the 1990's and 2000's.

Throughout his distinguished career, he has demonstrated a commitment to developing student-athletes, building successful programs, and fostering excellence both on and off the field.

Currently serving in the CTE Department at Demopolis High School. Dannelly also serves as assistant coach in baseball and was the assistant in softball. Since joining Demopolis City Schools in 2018, he has helped guide multiple championship-caliber programs, including area championships in softball and baseball and region championships in football. His leadership has also played a key role in fundraising efforts and the development of student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.

Prior to his tenure at Demopolis, Dannelly coached at numerous collegiate institutions, including the University of West Alabama, Georgian Court University, Louisiana State University at Alexandria, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), the University of South Carolina Upstate, and Coastal Carolina University. His collegiate coaching career includes nine years of NCAA Division I experience, four NCAA Regional appearances, three Big South Conference Tournament Championships, and three Big South Conference Regular Season Championships. In 2000, he was a member of the NFCA Southeast Regional Coaching Staff of the Year at Coastal Carolina University.

As a head coach, Dannelly has accumulated 130 career victories and has been part of coaching staffs that have combined (Head/Assistant) for 638 career wins. He has coached numerous All-Americans, all-conference selections, conference players of the year, and academic award recipients. His dedication to player development, recruiting, fundraising, facility management, and program administration has earned him recognition throughout the softball and baseball communities.

A graduate of Coastal Carolina University (2003) with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Dannelly remains passionate about mentoring young people, building successful programs, and creating opportunities for student-athletes to achieve their goals. His career reflects a steadfast commitment to excellence, leadership, and service in education and athletics.

Coach Dannelly is Married to Mrs. Brandi Dannelly of Rayne, La and they have 1 son Jackson Dannelly (9).
